  1. File type mapping

  4. Two files exist which are used to define the mapping between Archimedes and Macintosh file types.
  5.  
  6. The file Arc2MacT contains the mapping of Archimedes types to Macintosh types.
  7. The file Mac2ArcT contains the mapping of Macintosh types to Archimedes types.
  8.  
  9. Both files consist of zero or more mapping records, each on an independent line, and of the
  10. form:-

  12.   <4 character Macintosh code> <space> <hexadecimal value> <end of line>
  13.  
  14. The file Arc2MacT must contain a unique list of Archimedes file types.
  15. The file Mac2ArcT must contain a unique list of Macintosh file types.
  16.  
  17. The Choices... dialog should be used for moeifying these files and the appropriate mappings.
  18. The original versions of the files, as shipped with the product, are to be found in the Defaults
  19. directory.
